Almost everyone can unfortunately relate to having some truly dissatisfying experiences at the hospital.  Not getting test results, struggling with getting the doctor to actually see the patient, not getting answers about diagnosis, medication, causes, disease, and what in the world is going on!  Hospital experiences for many are very confusing and stressful times, but are hospitals and hospital employees taking advantage of this confusion and stress that the patient and family experience?  Now that hospitals are not as busy as they used to be, if they were taking advantage, they might actually be more inclined to continue to do so.

I'm not going to go into all of the different less than satisfying hospital experiences that many people have had.  Although, I have heard some that I truly find horrifying and almost unbelievable.  The main point of this article is to get some valuable information out.  There is something you can do if you feel that you are having a significant problem with the hospital you are working with.  Contact the Joint Commission and report a complaint.  The state governments have come to recognize Joint Commission accreditation as a condition of licensure and therefore, a condition for the receipt of Medicaid reimbursement.  Reporting a claim with the Joint Commission will get the right person looking into a possible hospital problem for you.  Since the Joint Commission accreditation is viewed by state governments as a necessity for reimbursement, the hospital does NOT want to have any issues with their accreditation.

Personally, I have noticed that sometimes just mentioning the Joint Commission in a hospital will start to get you some answers.  You may notice that the hospital employees begin to treat you a little nicer and tend to some of you needs more intimately.  For a link to the Joint Commission Complaint Form go to and click on the Joint Commission Complaint Form.  Check out my site and subscribe.  Lots of new information added daily!!  INFORMATION EQUALS MASTERY!!!!!
