All of us at times find ourselves complaining about something in our lives.   The one exception I know is my mother.  She never complained about her life, her friends, the people around her, her work or what life had dealt her.

She really could have complained. By many measures she had a difficult life. Married to abusive alcoholic, she found the courage to leave and then married a second alcoholic.  Somehow their marriage lasted for more than 40 years, aided by  my stepfather managing to stop drinking for the last 35 years.  She told me once that she stopped counting how many times she moved after 50 times. She lived in a comfortable five bedroom home in Orange County, California and a 13 foot trailer in the mountains near Lake Tahoe, Ca.

Rather than complain, she focused her energies on raising three wonderful kids and being a stepmother to five others.  To everyone she was grandma Betty, the nicest, kindest person you would ever meet.  She always took time to listen to everyone that needed to talk, all without a hint of judgment or criticism of others.  She has a calm grace and strength that she shared with everyone she came in contact with.  From her I learned that regardless of what happened to you in your life, you have the ability to get up, dust yourself off and start over.  Mom never complained and I grew never knowing that I was disadvantaged in any way. For Mom everything was about showing others a caring loving person.  She dismissed her troubles by helping others overcome their troubles.  For more than 30 years she helped countless people overcome the effects of living in alcoholic relationships. Even in the last years of her life, she would take time to attend meetings at AA/Alon group for recovering addicts, at a half-way house.  I am told that when she attended these meetings, these toughen felons would quickly become soften by the women in her early 80's arriving to show them the same love she shared with everyone.   For her living a life of abundance was about helping others love who they were.

Want to achieve your goals in your life?  Then stop complaining and start focusing onWhat do you want instead.  But take it a step further.Start to focus on what you want your life to be.  Start each morning by creating a positive image of your life, and then acting on the changes you need to make in your life to get what you want.   Before you know it, you will start seeing the abundance that life has to offer.  Remember you get not what you deserve, but what you actively image you deserve and act on to achieve.

Start by making a list of everything you want in your life.  Then create active images of what those items are as if you have them today.  Begin by asking yourself three questions: 1) What area in your life would you like more abundance, 2) What specifically do you desire, and 3) If you could have it now, would you accept it?

It helps get you focused on what you want in your life instead of complaining about what you don't want.

The next step is where most people fail.  Create statements that are positive affirmations of you having what you want as if you have it now.  That means your statements are written in the first person, and present tense.  As you quietly repeat these affirmations when you first awaken in the morning and then again at the end of the day, just before you fall to sleep, your mind starts to work, and many of your desires will start to happen.  At a deeper level you have to develop a consciousness of prosperity and abundance.  This deeper level of consciousness to always be tuned into your greater good and what you want in your life. What you are set to do is change how your mind works and how your what you believe at a deep sub-conscious level can transform your habitual words and actions from those of limitation into those that bring the abundance you seek.

This is not just me saying this, it is supported by the research and writing of several people including Napoleon Hill, "Think and Grow Rich"; Shakti Gawain, "The Creative Visualization Workbook"; James Ray, "Harmonic Wealth"; Joe Vitale, "The Attractor Factor; Jack Canfield, "The Success Principles: How to Get from Where you Are to Where You Want to Be; and many of the books by Dyane Dyer.   I would encourage you to read a few of these books and check out my website or blog for more posts on these concepts.
