When a full-figured bride goes shopping for her plus size wedding gown she must take into consideration her body type. She must learn which shape sheath will flatter her body the most. Every woman’s body is different. However, there are a few silhouettes that you will find will flatter most brides with that full-figure:

• Slim A-line – These type of dresses flatter the pear shape figure as they accentuate the top half of the bride’s body and camouflage the lower part. You want to try to keep the skirt on the smaller side because if you have a skirt that has too must volume it will simply add bulk.
• The Princess Cut – This cut of dress has an A-line shape and has no seam at the waist. Therefore, the dress will give a long, uninterrupted appearance which is very flattering. Skirts can range all the way from a slim A-line to a full A-line. The secret should be that the dress should begin to flare just below your waist. This will do wonders in hiding a heavier bottom.
• Sleeves and straps – Many curvy women tend to shy away from the strapless wedding gown. Designers are beginning to offer more options in necklines. Tank style dresses can be quite flattering. Another flattering option to consider would be the cap sleeve as well as the three-quarter sleeve. You may also want to opt for a sheer fabric such as tulle and netting.

You may also choose to check out most wedding dress shops for a plus size wedding gown from the Liv Harris line. Some of the more popular shops like VOWS offer beautiful dresses at outlet prices. You can probably find beautiful and flattering gowns for about half the cost. As you all know weddings can sometimes come with a large price tag. And choosing to save money here and there will add up to a lot of money. So if you are in search of a plus size dress there are many designers that design for this specifically.
