Your wedding day is a celebration that marks the first day of the rest of your lives together as husband and wife. This union is one that will be shared with family, friends, and friends that are family, all of whom should know you well and look forward to witnessing such a momentous occasion. Maybe you have always been known as the "fun" couple by friends, throwing caution to the wind and following your impulses and dreams instead of simply falling in with the norm.

Your friends might be a bit surprised by a traditional, by-the-book wedding. Or maybe you are more of a traditional couple, always very predictable with each and every aspect of your life being planned out to the minute. Two opposite extremes, right? Well, sort of. Your wedding is YOUR day and whatever theme you choose should be an extension of what YOU want. Pulling in the reins a little and going with a more traditional ceremony may blow your friends out of the water, but it is what you have always wanted as a bride. That doesn't mean everything will be elegant and practical, perhaps just the ceremony. At the other end of the spectrum, cutting loose and leaving your predictable life behind you, if only for a day, might be the perfect beginning for your new life together.

Either way, whether you are planning a traditional, elegant wedding or something more unconventional such as an outdoor wedding on the beach or at the park, don't find yourself stuck on what to give your guests as wedding favors. Not everyone will be prepared for the wedding you are planning, so trying to find favors that will please everyone could prove to be an impossible task. Shake things up a little and whether guests expect it or not, go in search of unique wedding party favors.

Most wedding receptions will include your usual place card holders and possibly a variety of candle wedding favors or a type of photo album or frame. Although these are wonderful wedding favors, you are looking for something a little less traditional and a lot more unique and unusual. A good place to start might be with wedding popper favors. Instead of throwing rice, arm your guests with a popper and have them send you off as husband and wife with a bang! Refrigerator magnets are another wedding party favor that you don't see very often. Choose from pepper magnets, playing card magnets or "perfect pair" refrigerator magnets, with the bride and groom shaped like pears, and many more. If you want to stay in the kitchen, how about some measuring spoons, a whisk or a melon baller? How often have you received cooking utensils for being a wedding guest?

You could be the first! Other exclusive wedding favors might include disposable cameras, a cow measuring tape, a calculator and sticky notes. Each of these unusual wedding favors are still somehow tied into the theme of your wedding and are decorated appropriately, so you will never forget where that calculator came from while figuring out your bills and those refrigerator magnets will be a constant reminder to guests of your big day, bringing a smile to their face each time they look at them!
