When choosing wedding favors, most people tend to look straight to the old favorites. It's easy to go for the coasters, engraved glasses, bottle stoppers, candles, and flower arrangements of the world. Some may choose a different approach, however, and wish to go with something more unique and ultimately more memorable. Sometimes the more unusual wedding favors are actually some of the more common everyday items, but given a personalized touch to make the ordinary seem a little more stylish. An item as simple as a pizza cutter can be given an upgrade simply by adding an engraved saying or even just the initials of the wedding couple. It's something that people commonly use, but not something they would expect to be given as a wedding favor.

There are actually a large number of kitchen items and utensils that can be transformed into something unique and different by engraving them or even decorating them with the wedding colors. Heart shaped spoons are a unique gift that will either be used over and over, or kept as a keepsake to remember the union of a bride and groom. Refrigerator magnets, champagne buckets, pear timers, and even honey pots are more examples of unusual wedding favors that will bring a nice touch to anyone's kitchen. It can be a lot of fun coming up with ideas on how to make the ordinary seem extraordinary by adding just a bit of flare.

Another example of an unusual wedding favor is polished garden stones that can be engraved with whatever you may like. They look great when coupled up with your favorite plants, and definitely aren't something that you would normally expect as a gift. Even more unusual than that would be personalized candy bar wrappers with names of the bride and groom, or a message of thanks from the newlyweds to the guests. Some may choose to put together cd's full of the couple's favorite songs. Engraved pens are also a nice gesture and are practical as well. How about making a donation to a guest's favorite charity?

There are any number of options that are available, and finding them is as easy as looking around the house and thinking of what you use often that can be made special. You'll find that the more offbeat the gift, the greater chance that the guest will come away feeling that you really took the time to find something different to simply say thank you.
