Women's Issues  (1,500)

You have already set a date for your wedding, and now you're ready to dive into the preparations for your big day. One of the first issues you have to tackle is choosing your bridesmaids. These women will be an important part of the event, and it's essential that you choose wisely.

Brides who choose their bridesmaids without giving the process some careful thought, often end up with a lineup who either don't get along well, who are not up to the task, or are not too enthusiastic at all about being in the wedding. If you don't choose your bridesmaids carefully, it can lead to stressful scenarios, and you might even lose some of your friends if you're not careful. Here are a few tips to help you out:

First and foremost, don't rush. Being engaged sometimes makes a girl all giddy and excited that she may get the urge to tell all her friends immediately and all at once. Some of these friends might expect that you will choose them and then you won't have the time to carefully think out who to include. So it's best to wait, take your time, and think about who you really want to stand with you as your bridesmaids. Careful planning is key.

Another wise thing to do is to do a little research about your friends' current life situations. Like for instance, if your friend is heartbroken or has a problem at the moment, it's probably better not to ask her to be your bridesmaid. Instead, you can just invite her as one of your guests. If your friend is going through a hard time financially, maybe it's not right to ask her to add your wedding to her list of expenses. The point here is to be considerate. You can't just expect your friends to forget about their problems for a while and focus on your wedding day. That wouldn't be fair. You can still include these friends in the planning and invite them to come to your wedding, but it's not wise to ask them to be your bridesmaids.

You have to think beforehand, will everybody get along? If you have friends that are not getting along well together, it's probably best to give them separate tasks in your wedding. It would be extremely awkward for them, if you ask both your friends who are not talking to each other to be your bridesmaids. So again, be considerate.

Lastly, you are the bride, so you have all the right to choose who to include and not to include in your maids list. Don't let other people pressure you or force you into including someone that you don't want to include. Your bridesmaids are your support system in the planning and preparations for your wedding day, and you, the bride, should have full control over who's going to be there with you. It's your wedding, and you have no time to feel resentful or guilty.

When you choose your bridesmaids, remember, take your time and follow your heart. Keep these tips in mind, and you will have a memorable and fun bridal party and wedding. So choose carefully.
