A big question many couples face is should they have their wedding indoors or outdoors. Should the reception be indoors or outdoors? Some couples may approach this with no doubts on the idea and have always wanted the party to be outside. It is true that there are many romantic spots that can provide a natural back drop of beauty offering ready made wedding decorations and providing you with ideas for decor, favors and your overall theme. There are elements to an outdoor wedding that will provide some areas of concern, elements that we cannot predict ahead of time. We want to take into account as much as we can with an outdoor setting to offer our guests a comfortable setting and avoid any problems that could make the day anything less than spectacular. A vineyard will get the creative juices flowing with ideas for wedding decorations and favors. All things related to wine, starting with the vines of the grapes and ending with the bottles of wine with wine bottle stopper favors. A beach setting lends itself to some fun ideas with flip flop place card holders, little pails with candles in them and colors that explode throughout the reception area. A garden will give you natural wedding decorations with greenery and flowers which you can carry though with butterfly and floral candles, bookmarks and place card holders. The obstacles that could dampen the day, clearly involve the weather. Check the weather for the time of year you have selected. Spring in the lower mid west means tornadoes, or a beach in Florida or the Bahama's in early September is risking heavy rain. You have a tent? That's thinking, however if the weather turns unseasonably hot those tents can work like a greenhouse. If you are determined to have it outside plan around weather patterns and it is really important that you have a back up plan! Other elements can include bugs. Wasps and bees love those sweet drinks and flies and ants are just looking to chow down on some good food. Tables and chairs, hauling dishes, glasses and food to the site, a sound system for speeches, and where do we go to the bathroom? Your dress might drag over grass or dirt if you're outside, maybe a short or ¾ length would be better? Heels! Oh no, women trying to walk over soft soil in heels will be falling backwards. The comfort of your guests, the weather at the time you have selected, and how reasonable it is to transport everything you need to this outdoor location will factor in when trying to decide whether the event will be an indoor or outdoor wedding. Planning is key but these romantic setting are so beautiful with an abundance of wedding ideas and decorations all ready in place.
