Problems with ovulation are the main source of female infertility . If ovulation doesn't take place then there is no egg to be fertilized. Other than this main factor there are many contributing causes including but not limited to:
*Age- Fertility in men and women hit the highest point in the mid twenties. In general women under 30 shouldn't be concerned with infertility unless they have been trying to get pregnant for a year with no success. At that point in time it would be wise to visit your OBGYN or obstetrician for a fertility assessment. Infertility increases with age! For women in their 30's trying to get pregnant for at least 6 months it's about time you see a specialist as well. For ladies over 35 having a child may be a problem, but there are many cases of women in their 40's getting pregnant. There are holistic practices to help older females get pregnant naturally.
*Weight- Staying healthy is imperative to your fertility. Being overweight coupled with lack of exercise create fat deposits which are infamous in causing ovulation troubles. On the flip side anorexia of even just low body weight has been synced with amenorrhea (the loss of menstrual cycles).
*Stress- Having high stress levels can hinder the ovulation process. Relaxation techniques should be implemented to reduce stress. Yoga is a popular activity to pursue.
*Smoking- Smoking is a giant roadblock when it comes to getting pregnant. Also smoking comes with the risks of developing cervical complication, irregular menstrual cycles, and an imbalance of hormones. In most cases smokers take much longer to conceive than non-smokers.
*Poor Diet- Proper eating habit can do wonders for your fertility. Try to eat a balanced diet of low-fat food and meals full of vitamins and nutrients to help hormone regulation and nurture your reproductive system. * Caution, stay away from a lot of sugar and caffeine for they are associated with being infertile.
*Alcohol- Frequent drinking of alcohol can adversely affect fertility as well. Heavy drinking can cause irregular menstrual cycles which in turn increases the rate of miscarriages and birth defects.
*Athletic Training- Female athletes are very prone to amenorrhea and other eating disorders, not to mention osteoporosis. The female reproductive system is affected by the imbalance that's created from eating disorders plus the elevated exercise loads. Stress and low body fat also contribute to the lack of menstruation and ovulation.
*STD's- In many cases sexually transmitted deceases cause infertility. If you want to get pregnant , it is suggested that you get tested for any disease you may have contracted.
I realize this seems like a long list full negativity, but with a few lifestyle changes a healthy natural pregnancy can be attained for most individuals.
