We distinguish colors with part of our lives, in fact if it wasn’t for colors we wouldn’t know most of our likes and dislikes. This kind of feelings or reactions we have towards color is known as color psychology. However there are critics who claim that color does not play such a significant role in how we behave, but psychologist are proving them wrong with scientific knowledge.

Color’s involvement in our lives is usually used on how we feel for example if you are feeling down or ill in most cases this means you are feeling blue, basically using the color blue to describe the feeling of sadness or sickness. Other colors that are used would be red which probably describes anger or danger and black which mostly describes darkness.

How people view or understand color is said to have come as far back as during the time of the ancient Indians, Chinese and the Egyptians who believed in the power of colors for healing purposes. The color black is can also be used to describe sophistication or make you look sophisticated. Color psychology also believes that red is a disturbing color and even though it is bright and invigorating the color red is said to be overpowering.

Colors are also being used as a form of healing it is said that the color of your room determines how you will feel or what kind of person you are. Color psychology is still a new and not so tapped field which still needs more growth and as it expands you will see more use of colors in health work or in how our mental mind works.
