Vitamins to Help PMS - PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) is simply defined as a collection of symptoms, which are related to the menstrual cycles of a woman. These symptoms or side effects are result of hormonal changes that occur during menstruation. Some of the most popular symptoms include bloating, fatigue and cramping. Severe PMS symptoms also include panic attacks, weight gain and anxiety.

According to Gynecologists and doctors, besides using vitamins to help PMS, eating habits and diet control can have a positive impact on PMS symptoms. It is also suggested to use PMS supplements that are created to target PMS symptoms. These supplements mostly include mineral supplements and vitamin supplements.
Some of the most popular vitamins that are proven to show positive effects on fighting with PMS symptoms are Vitamin A, B6 and E. Vitamin B6 is considered as a natural diuretic and hence it reduces bloating.

Also, Vitamin B6 is known to relieve mood swings and depression that may arise in menstrual cycles. According to studies and research, 50 milligram of Vitamin B6 can be proved very helpful for PMS symptoms. But, consuming too much vitamin B6 can also result in neuropathy. The vitamins are also known to increase the estrogen levels that usually get imbalanced during menstrual cycles.

Similarly Vitamin E is also known to relieve tender breasts. According to studies and research, approximately 400 IUs of Vitamin E are appropriate to fight PMS symptoms. This vitamin is also known to control levels of hormones. Similarly, it can also reduce depression and tetchiness. Zinc is also among the best-known vitamins to help PMS. Also, PMS symptoms mostly occur in those women who have lower levels of zinc. Therefore, taking a minimum of 15 milligram of zinc can help fighting with PMS symptoms. You should also understand that lower levels of zinc could also cause acne and depression.

According to research and studies, it has been proved that various minerals are also used to treat PMS symptoms. Calcium is known to treat the imbalanced hormone levels that are a result of menstrual cycles. It is also known to reduce the uterine cramps and breast tenderness. Liver metabolism is also improved with the adequate use of calcium. Doses of calcium should be taken upon doctor's recommendations in the time period of menstrual cycles. Calcium is also known to increase the bleeding when the period starts.

Therefore, you should stop consuming calcium after the first day of bleeding. Besides various vitamins to help PMS, Magnesium is also known for treating various PMS symptoms. It is used to activate the pituitary gland. Magnesium is also known to encourage the production of a natural hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. Just like many other minerals and vitamins, Magnesium also balances the imbalanced hormone levels and controls depression and anxiety to a good extent. However but we need to understand that In order to see positive results from vitamins and minerals you'd have to take them at least 2-3 months of time.
