Medical supplies are big, big business. As the largest generation of Americans continues to age, medical supplies are becoming more and more important. Millions of people have health problems. Some need mobility aids, others needs pills. Still others need special shoes, diabetes medication, sexual aids, incontinence products, heart medication or products for other parts of their bodies. It creates a dire need for medical companies to provide a wide range of products.
The baby boomers are aging and there are millions of them. They are making health care a hot button topic and a booming industry. Many of them suffer with ailments requiring medical supplies to maintain basic health. Pharmaceutical companies and medical supply companies are seeing record profits as they are called upon to address the variety of health problems displayed by the aging population. Wheel chairs, walkers, and other products that maintain mobility are in demand as the aging baby boomers refuse to go quietly into the sweet goodnight. The baby boomers continue to be active despite their health issues. They just pack their medical supplies and hit the road.
One area that is growing is the use of preventative medicine. People today are using blood and urine testing to anticipate potential problems and taking medicines to keep them at bay. Oxygen bottles, hearing aids, glasses and contact lenses and all sorts of medical equipment are being used by growing hordes of the elderly attempting to maintain control of their lives and have fun in their golden years.
