You probably already know that you should drink lots of water in order to maintain healthy looking skin. The only question is:what kind of water should you drink? You see, not all water is the same...and some water can actually be bad for your skin.

Skin care is a complex matter that requires careful attention to detail. Aside from exercising and eating right, at least eight glasses of water per day must be consumed. So, let’s talk about the kinds of water that are available to you.

We’ll begin withtap water, since it’s the type of water that most people tend to drink. Tap water is a form of municipal water that has been treated, disinfected, and processed. Most cities also add a good amount of chlorine and fluoride to municipal water sources. Currently, there is some speculation as to whether or not one of the by-products that is contained within chlorine can be linked to cancer. In short, tap water won’t help with the anti-aging process.

Some people prefer to drinkdistilled water, which refers to any kind of water that has gone through a vaporization process. Distilled water contains numerous types of residue, though it does not contain any kind of essential nutrients. Next up is the most popular source of water:bottled water.

Many people believe that all bottled water is pure water, though this is not entirely true. Since bottled water comes inside of a plastic container, you must be careful as to which bottle water you choose. Some toxins from certain plastics can actually contaminate bottled water. If you do want to drink bottled water, make sure that it comes in the form of a glass container.

The best water to drink is water that comes from a natural mineral-rich source. Well water tends to come from a natural water source that can be found directly underneath the ground. Other forms of natural water include spring water, artesian water, and mineral water. These types of water all contain minerals and nutrients that your skin craves such as magnesium, potassium, and sodium. This type of water will be your best anti-aging defence.

As you can see, not all water is the same – far from it, in fact. The best possible water that you can consume will always be those waters that come from natural sources. Still, if you are going to drink tap water, make sure that it is purified in some manner.

If you live within a highly populated area, drinking water that comes from a natural mineral source might be difficult. In this case, a regular water filter is better than no filter at all. Even though a water filter will eliminate any amount of nutrients from the water, this will still ensure that no toxins exist within the water itself.

For healthy skin care, water must be a natural part of your life. However, learning to be a bit picky when it comes to your water source is a good idea. Take the time to read the back of those bottled water labels, try to avoid tap water, and drink from a natural source if you can.
