There are lots of benefits that meditation could give. It can help you feel relaxed. It decreases the stress you feel. Meditation can also prevent many diseases like heart disease and respiratory failure. It can also help you improve the flow of the air to the lungs. Meditation can also boost your confidence as it helps you know more about yourself. In general, meditation can be used for maintaining a good health. As there are lots of benefits that you can get from meditation, there are also many types of meditation you can try. It is up to you what type of meditation you want to use. Practically, to know the type of meditation that suits you will require knowledge of the different types of meditation. But before involving yourself to such, it is best to consult your doctor first. Note that some meditative techniques require a lot of practice and conditioning before they can be mastered perfectly. But either way, there are several that are easy to do, so one can immediately gain the benefits of the practice. The common type of meditation that people use is the breathing exercise. In a breathing exercise, you must take several cycles of deep breaths. Breathing exercises can be done in different comfortable positions. You can do it by sitting cross-legged on the floor, or you can do it by just standing, lying, or anything as long as it is comfortable. In the breathing exercise, you are focusing your attention on the way you breathe. The way you inhale and exhale. If your mind can't stop wandering around, just bring back your focus on your breaths. You can do it a few minutes a day and progress to twenty minutes a day. You can also meditate through walking. Find a place where you can walk silently. It can be in your room, walking back and forth. You can also go outside where you can walk in a bigger space, but try to remember that there are many distractions outside, so it is better to find a place where you can walk quietly. When doing the walking meditation, you take slow and deep breaths. As you walk, just feel your entire body. Focus on how you walk, concentrate on how your body is moving and functioning, be aware of your entire body. Concentrate on how the way you breathe. Concentrate on how your legs are moving, on how your feet feel the ground. If your concentration fails, if there are any distractions, try to bring back your focus. Another type of meditation you can do is the mantra. There are lots of people who find it easier to use the mantra because it makes concentration easier. A mantra can be a sound or phrase that you repeat while meditating. In this type of meditation, you can choose a word or phrase, any word that suits you, and then repeat it many times. You can say it aloud or through your mind as you do meditation.
