With our poor diets today, many people are now asking "what types of food will help with inflammation" to help lower the risk of a premature heart attack or stroke. Here are some of the most effective ones and the ultimate one you should include in your daily routine.

You may think of inflammation as being associated with conditions like arthritis and other joint problems but it is when it occurs in the body that the problems begin. It has no symptoms and can strike without warning.

Fruit and vegetables are always a good source of anti-inflammatory foods with the best ones beingbroccoli, sweet potato, blueberriesandpapaya.

Some spices are also very effective and includeturmeric(curcumin) andgreen tea(without milk or sugar).

If you try and useextra virgin olive oiloravocado oilinstead of sunflower you will also help to reduce your inflammation.

It is also a good idea to reduce your intake of processed foods like takeaways and pastries along with fried food and potato chips. I know these are many people's favourite but just cutting down a little will really help!

So what types of food will help with inflammation the most?

As you may have guessed, it'scold water oily fishlike salmon, hoki, tuna and mackerel. These contain essential omega 3 fatty acids, the main two of which are EPA and DHA.

They have powerful anti-inflammatory properties and the DHA fats are converted in the body into a chemical called Resolvin D2 which helps to lower your risk of a heart attack or stroke.

In addition they offer many other important benefits including lower cholesterol and blood pressure, improved brain health, better vision and memory and protection against many cancers.

As fresh fish contain so many toxins today, experts advise that you use a distilled supplement so you can control the purity and amount of what you take.

To ensure they are pure, molecular distillation should have been performed on the oil to get rid of all the toxins the fish carry in their flesh and this process also concentrates the oil more in those valuable omega 3's.

Look for at least 260mg of DHA in each 1000mg capsule to get the maximum benefits and it was recently discovered that a blend of hoki and tuna oil gives over twice the anti-inflammatory benefits of any other type of oil.

Now you know what types of food will help with inflammation and the fact that fish oils are the ultimate source, why not include them in your daily routine to help you live a longer and healthier life.
