You should keep in mind that it is a multifarious disease, and has lots of symptoms. Therefore, don't ridicule the depression patient of faking the disease. You can't suppose that the depressed can easily get rid of this illness. Many patients of depression need a lot of sympathy and attention. Actually the pain of the depressed person is invisible to you perhaps that is the reason why most of the times the depressed person fights with his depression alone. He does not share or express his true feelings in mere words and then it leads to the severe conditions of depression that may cause serious and unwanted consequences not only for the sufferer but for his family too.

Therefore, we should keep an eye on the behavior of the people around you. If we come to know that he is not taking interest in his job, daily activities, friends and family members then we should ask him whether he is facing any problem or not. Once you are convinced that he has got a mental sickness then you should diagnose its root cause through creating a friendly atmosphere with him. And then you should visit a good doctor so that his proper treatment may be started without any delay.

The psychiatrist will consult him a proper medication plan and if needed, he might consult the patient to get therapy so that state of depression may be overcome as soon as possible. Once the treatment is started then you will soon observe positive signs in the attitude, behavior and dealings of the depression-affected person.
