Cancer remains the leading cause of death by disease in the world.
The most deadly types of cancer are lung, stomach, liver, colon and breast cancer, in that order according to a report by the World Health Organization in the past month of July.
According to specialists from the WHO Thirty per cent of the cases could be prevented. However, many factors combine to prevent such prevention. One is the economic factor.
Statistics show that about eighty per cent of deaths in the past 2007 by the disease were recorded in middle-income countries or low, that is, only twenty per cent occurred in countries of first world. One reality is that the greater buying power will have greater opportunities to care for the food. Of course not only about money, but also from lack of interest or learn to change some eating habits.
An example of this is related to breast cancer and prostate, common diseases during adulthood. While women are well aware of this, men still are not well informed about the risk of prostate cancer.
A diet that prevents cancer dramatically reduces the risk of developing these cancers. Several population studies have shown that the incidence of breast cancer and prostate cancer is much lower in nations such as Japan, a country where many are consumed soy products, food that contains isoflavones, and several kinds of antioxidants that prevent different types of cancer.
Given the above, how knowledgeable you are about this disease? How are your eating habits? Are you willing to make positive changes in your daily routine? In its report, the WHO recommended avoiding being overweight, eating more fruits and vegetables (remember to soybeans), avoiding the snuff, alcohol, physical activity and reduce our exposure to sunlight. The decision is yours. Yes, it is personal matter.
