What Your Drugs Demonstrate:

Using drugs reflects a lack of self-content; the particular favored drug is taken to (erroneously) fill that lack.

Amphetamines:

Amphetamines attack the central nervous system. You want to be up, especially sexually, and in more ways than one. But as much as you travel upward, when you descend, you inevitably triple the distance downward.

Amyl Nitrite (Poppers):

Amyl Nitrite are capsules that are popped right into the nose, inhaled and are exceedingly in demand amongst the gays. There is claim of heightened sexual bliss. Maybe your best friend should tell you the direct relationship this drug has with your heart and the migraines that inevitably come.

Anti-depressives:

Psychoanalysts suggest that one who constantly turns to anti-depressants, when it is not biologically based, will often lose the battle. Their claim is that not only does the user work on the effect and not the cause, they apparently only strive to be rid of the depression. Their opinion is that if the person would not be satisfied with dropping the depression and would actually strive to be ’up and alive’, their chances of success would increase enormously.

Aspirins:

Often viewed as harmless, physical and emotional discomfort are the chief reasons why the masses turn to aspirins for relief. Many psychiatrists who are candid will tell you that if you have become dependent on them, you seek instant remedies rather than the cause of the pain.

Barbiturates:

Essentially a down, a certain degree of dizziness and being spaced out eventually occurs, being almost totally non aware of your surroundings, sometimes even of yourself.

Cocaine:

Coke ranks high amongst the wealthy. Being an antidown it signals to others that you’ve made it.

Hashish:

A large percentage of hashish users are highly inhibited and introverted. Although seemingly in a crowd and superficially relating, your basic concern is you. You know that by not passing the pipe, it would not eventually get back to you.

Laxatives:

Maladies can be physically and emotionally caused. When laxatives are overly depended upon, emotional constipation is frequently the culprit seeking an outlet.

LSD:

This was in for the tripping hippie of the sixties. If you’re still doing it, where have you been emotionally all these years?

Marijuana and Crack:

Marijuana and Crack users rank high amongst teens, and although it does produce some kind of head, a major part of you in using them is sheer belligerence against any type of authority figure.

Mescaline and Psilocybin:

Mescaline makes you feel the blood rushing through you. When you are using it there is an ongoing battle within you, between your physical and spiritual attributes.

Quaaludes (Methaqualone):

A sedative, you believe that this will heighten your sexuality. Consider nevertheless that there can be permanent damage to your muscles through prolonged use.

Tranquilizers:

Heavy users of tranquilizers are frequently guilt-ridden. They may believe that they have committed crimes, sinned, etc. or actually did. They have let the ‘nerves’ that were created take over their rationale and treat them-as opposed to facing what they did or fantasized.

No Drugs:

The real question is why you never took drugs. If it is because you feel that some type of harm may befall you, then that’s very positive, but if it is because everybody’s doing it and you don’t want to be sucked in just because of that, you are actually anti-social.
