Many people want to quit smoking. Many have tried different methods such as quitting 'Cold Turkey', using Nicotine patches, and using Nicotine Gum. There are, however, many people who just don't want to quit, or they tell themselves that it is easier to just remain a smoker than to have to deal with the unsuccessful attempts to be a non-smoker. What kinds of reasons to people tell themselves?
Often a smoker will just say that they "like to smoke" and that it has become a habit they enjoy and do not want to give up.
Many will state examples of friends or relatives who have been smoking for ages, and have not shown any ill health signs such as lung cancer.
Some smokers are concerned with weight gain they think will happen when they become a non-smoker, so they continue to smoke.
Some actually think they fit in with others when they are smoking, like a cultural habit.
Some even think it is too late for them to quit, that any damage done to their body is not reversible. There are many studies that show most of the dangerous effects from smoking can be lessened, and eliminated within the first few days of quitting. The lungs of a smoker can return to a normal within a few years. The lungs can appear as clear as the lungs of a non-smoker!
But for most, it is a question of personal willpower.
There is one method, which remains one of the best, to use when you want to quit smoking -Hypnosis.
