Yeast infections can be annoying and an embarrassing problem. It does not go away from alone. You have do to something against the infection. But what is the best way of getting rid of it?
My friend Cheryl had such a problem. She was ill and had to take antibiotics. This caused an imbalance and opened the door to a yeast infection. There is no sure way to prevent a yeast infection when you have to take antibiotics but it helps when you eat yoghurt or take acidophilus beforehand.
But for now it was too late already. Cheryl had to deal with the problem and it is not the first time. If you ever had a yeast infection before you know how difficult it can be to get rid of it. Prescription medication works but there are also other things that help.
When Cheryl got her infection for the first time she went to her gynecologist. This is always the best solution, at least to find out what the cause is. You will get oral medications like Influent or anti fungal vaginal medication in form of creams or tablets. For many this is not a option though, especially when the infection keeps coming back. They look for alternative treatments.
Cheryl knows these medications already and has also found a good combination of natural remedies to complement the treatment of her recurring infection. She uses a homeopathic treatment called Borax that for her type of infection. There are a couple of natural treatments, some work, others do not. The trick is to find out what works for you.
Do not choose a cure blindly just because you have heard of it. There are different cures for a male and female infection. It also depends on the cause of your yeast infection and how long you already have it. Common causes like stress, pregnancy, hormonal changes, clothing, sex can require different cures.
There are various natural treatments from garlic, cranberries, oregano oil, cinnamon, certain teas and more. Many do a good job in easing the symptoms or even treat the infection at all.
Find out first what the exact cause is and then you can target the problem with the right treatment, either with prescription medication or naturally.
