The energy of all poppies is one of standing tall and confident in your own brilliance. And, the color yellow adds an energy of "I can do it!" to the mix -- the perfect combination!
What a great way to wind down the year and prepare to start a whole new one – with the energy of being able to do it “your way”!
A colleague of mine, the talented hand analyst, Baeth Davis, uses the story of tall poppies in her work, citing a story that warned people against being a “tall poppy” because those are the ones that get cut down first. So many of us have heeded these kinds of warnings and squashed our unique brilliance along the way. Claim your inner Tall Poppy, and be as big and beautiful as you truly are.
In the words of Marianne Williamson immortalized by Nelson Mandela:
“Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Yellow Poppy Affirmation:
I, stand tall and confident in my own magnificence. I let my light SHINE!
