Alcoholism test is a test which will determine whether or not you are addicted to alcohol.
An alcoholic is a person who abuses alcohol; alcohol creates a sense of euphoria on consumption making a person want more of it. The problem is that the amount of alcohol needed to bring about the desired effect goes on increasing with regular abuse, thus increasing the amount consumed by the addict.

The Alcoholism test surely answers some of the questions an addict faces, like...

Casino gaming is a great way of stepping out of your shell and throwing inhibitions out of the window. If you feel like getting away from all the stress that seem to be continually piling up in your shoulders, there are around 4000 casinos around the world. Take your pick and spend the whole evening naming your stakes and upping the bets. There is nothing like an adrenaline rush to pump those everyday worries away.

Many of us have experienced difficult relationships with someone or with several people who have been addicted to alcohol, drugs, gambling, or some other unhealthy pursuit. How might we deal with these difficult relationships, recognize them early, and prevent such relationships in the future?

My own dear mother was unfortunately alcoholic. One day I realized something vitally important:

Just because you love someone, doesn't mean it is healthy to be near them.

If you’ve read self-help literature, you’ve probably heard about the “inner critic”—the mental voice that constantly tells you that you’re not good enough, and bombards you with memories of difficult events and visions of nightmarish possible futures. There are many schools of thought on how to deal with the critic, and most focus on developing more positive beliefs about oneself or using techniques to quiet one’s mind.

However, I...

Co-dependency is a serious addiction requiring specialised relationship counselling. Co-dependency is twofold. Firstly, it is the natural, behavioural reaction that is appropriated by one person in a relationship when the other person is involved in some kind of addictive behaviour. However in the other instance, some co-dependants are not involved in any kind of co-dependent relationship yet display the traits in their everyday life.

When the dependency reaches a serious...

The main and specific effects of the porn addiction are long lasting and they can influence the man’s life in a negative manner; the person who is addicted to porn may experience different level of dissatisfaction when it comes to his own life. Even escalation is likely to come along and the addict will experience a sort of ever-increasing lust for more intense experiences that are usually derived from the porn movies. Eventually, the addict will end up by considering the so...

Self-harm addiction, also known as self-mutilation, usually refers to the act of cutting and burning oneself and is an addiction that is widely misunderstood. Many often believe that a self-harmer is attempting to commit suicide due to the serious nature of the wounds and cuts inflicted. When a person is a self-harmer, they engage in obsessive and compulsive behaviours involving inflicting physical damage to their bodies in a quest to avoid feelings with which they are unable to cope or...

Heroin is an addictive drug that is processed from morphine and usually appears as a white or brown powder. Its street names include smack, H, ska, junk, and many others. Heroin use is on the rise and it has become a serious problem in America.

Heroin abuse is associated with serious health conditions, including fatal overdose, spontaneous abortion, collapsed veins, and, particularly in users who inject the drug, infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis.

Eating disorders have become quite a well known problem, with millions of people affected. Eating disorders are a disease that is progressive and incurable and the same type of disease as any other addiction. The sufferer is trapped in a helpless cycle of obsessive and compulsive behavior and unable to break free of the need to escape feelings and control.

Eating disorders are more common than most people think - not everyone with an eating disorder appears to be skeletal,...
