The last article I wrote about scent characteristics and notes of essential oils (

Here are 5 tips for you to create your own great essential oil blends for health, mind and spirit:

1.       Use all of your experience, knowledge, and intuition: One essential oil blend may not work for all people. Taylor your blend specifically for one’s needs and symptoms. What’s more, don’t forget users’ emotional and psychological purpose.

2.       Try not blend more than 3-4 essential oils at a time in the beginning until you have gained some more experience.

3.       Learn about of properties of each oil and decide choose the oil that meet your requirements and purposes. Don’t use any essential oils that have opposite effects on the mind, body, and spirit

4.       Plan the theme of your blend. Please remember that the essential oils in the same theme tend to harmonize well with each other.

5.       Select the essential oils in each scent note (top/middle/bottom) that can be blended in your designed theme. Try to balance the notes (in the beginning, you can use top 30% middle 40% and bottom 30%)

After finishing your blend, leave it over 24 hours for chemical settlement. During this period, the scent of your blend can change and may leave only some scents. So you should test the blend again after 24 hours.
