DEALING WITH DEATH:

RELATIONSHIPS DETERMINE GRIEF

It is a very different experience to lose a spouse, husband, wife or partner who you love and are living with than to lose a spouse if you are estranged, separated or the relationship is full of problems

It is different to lose a child, son or daughter who is at home and for whom you are responsible to teach and raise as opposed to a child who is grown up and has been living on his or her own for several years....

Sometimes we can insensitively perceive situations according to personal interest. This will inevitably invoke all manner of reactions, and whether in the workplace or the family, the way an injured person is handled can have a bearing on " target="_self" time management and stress levels and hence lower productivity. Sometimes when you are least affected, you may tend to display a 'I do not care' attitude, which could injure the person especially if he/she in handling family wrangles...

I have weird dreams.  It would be easy if I just forgot about it, but I’m always trying to make sense of them.  My spouse says weird dreams are just dust in the corner of my mind. Maybe.  But I think subconscious and spiritual messages try to leak when my defenses are napping.

The other day I dreamed I was on a mystical journey.  I walked past a house where there were seminars, workshops and other spiritual messages being taught. It was a small house, but...

Misunderstanding is a product of passion and language either between persons of different countries and cultures, or between two people of the same language and race, in the same room at the same time. Misunderstandings occur any time there is a conversation, particularly a passionate conversation.

Misunderstandings during a passionate conversation may generate a result that is half fact-half fiction, deviating from the true conversation, yet powerful and inflammatory in memory....

Signs of Sexual Addiction (Based upon Patrick Carnes work)

1. Loss of Control
• Out of control sexual behavior predominates
• The addict cannot control the extent, duration and regularity of his/her
sexual behavior
• Behavior excesses continue despite clear signs of danger (consequences)
-- Compulsive masturbation
-- Compulsive pornography use
-- Chronic affairs
-- Exhibitionism: intrusive "flaunting/showing"

Our level of self confidence has a direct impact on many areas of our lives. Self confident individuals tend to find it easier to become successful emotionally, financially and socially. Everybody is capable of improving their level of self confidence. First, you have to make a decision. Are you prepared to work hard and really focus on improving your self confidence and self esteem? Think about what you want to achieve in life? How will improving your self confidence help you to...

A lot of survivors of sexual and physical abuse feel they need to confront someone about it.  Face down the perpetrator and tell him (usually him) – tell him what?  That what he did was wrong.  That it was hurtful and did substantial harm.

I imagine it could amazingly empowering to do that.  Although the response may be further denial and anger, which could be traumatic.  To hold one’s own against such responses would be a big deal.  And...

I recently attended the Willamette Writer’s Conference in Portland, Oregon.  I stayed with my friend and fellow writer, Cindy Brown.  I’ve been to writer’s conferences in Los Angeles, Santa Fe and Phoenix, but this event was truly outstanding – but not for the reasons one might suspect. I was inspired by many of my fellow writers who were attending this conference, including Cindy.

Cindy moved from Portland to Phoenix two years ago, and she was...

Can you lift a car single-handed? Neither can I, yet we hear news stories about people who perform seemingly impossible feats of strength or endurance in emergency situations. The slender female who lifts the car that has her partner or child trapped beneath it. The average male who walks miles to find help for himself and others despite serious injury.

Most of the time we only use a small fraction of our physical abilities. That’s true of our mental abilities...

What Your Type Of Psychotherapy Makes Known:

Of the many that are available, the particular therapy that interests you most is largely due to it being consistent with what you (believe you) require.

Behavior Therapy:

You love being ordered around, not that this is going to change you, as it doesn’t, but based on what you’re being told to do, you now have better self comprehension.

Bioenergetics:

The way to get through to you is through action...
