For people affected by seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and winter depression, light therapy is effectively used. It has also been proved that most people who suffer from SAD require exposure to much higher light levels. People depressed to wake up on a dark winter morning could use SAD alarm clocks as therapy. The depression affecting people results in disturbed sleep, difficulty in getting up in the morning and tiredness throughout the day. It also makes people low in motivation and...

Vomit phobia is one of the most widely known phobias, and it affects more than 2% of the population. It is a very specific phobia, and this makes it very easy to cure. There are many possible cures, and one of the most effective ones, can be found on this web page. Keep reading to learn more.

It is still unknown, what exactly causes vomit phobia. It sounds very unique, and strange, but in reality it is the number 5 most popular phobia in the world. Phobias are irrational fears,...

The trap of panic

Many specialists describe the panic attacks and panic disorders as a (very real) trap in two fundamental key areas. To overcome panic attacks requires effort, strength and dedication. The first trap is related to that person who, suffering a crisis, trusts that whatever he is doing is risky (ie, he will get a heart attack, he will faint, he will lose the reason, he will lose the control) when, in actuality, a panic attack does not pose any danger in any way to...

In these days when living almost always means dealing with deadlines, quotas, credit limits and making ends meet, everyone has got to live with stress. As a matter of fact, when you stick a stress-o-meter to every 9-to-5 person, you would probably see that almost everyone is walking around with their own stress and anxiety burdens.

The fact that stress and stress-induced conditions are becoming prevalent in today's fast-paced society poses a problem with regard to the...

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) is a vicious cycle of sorts. If you are suffering from this disorder, you would tend to worry too much about the future, at the cost of losing peace of mind and focus. Then, with the loss of concentration and the inability to relax, social interactions get disrupted and work becomes affected. Eventually, your fear starts to materialize, and before you know it, your worries become real.

Such is the predicament of millions of people, not just...

You probably heard people talk of paralyzing fear. In the case of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, that figure of speech becomes a little more literal. While most people who suffer from GAD still function normally (albeit unhappily) and aren't likely to stand frozen out of fear, it cannot be denied that the disorder may result to poor job performance and disruptions on social interaction.

Practically anyone has experienced unnerving fear or anxiety of some sort. Some people...

Everyone worries. When your worries interfere with your life, that's when the real problems start. What's even more disturbing about Generalized Anxiety Disorder is that people tend to shrug it off as mere worrying, unaware that it can actually be damaging, especially when you consider the amount of tension it would cause, not only psychologically, but physically as well.

The good news is that, there is help for people with GAD. It doesn't have to be a burden that you have to...

The problem with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), especially when it is undiagnosed, is that the more you tend to run away from it, the more it seems to gain on you. When you chuck it on the sidelines and tell yourself that it might only be a simple case of nerves, it might mean that you are postponing your treatment, and subsequently putting off the chance to relieve yourself of the burden of stress, tension and chronic worrying.

The thing is, GAD can start as soon as...

In this article I am presenting to you a method I use to allow myself to relax - that is, when you start using it, and form your own relationship to it, is actually very simple. Use it to calm down and, in the long run, become more happy.

Are you ready for some abstract thinking? Good. In this article you are going to have to let go, for a while, of the need to understand things the way you might be used to understand things -- logically. You are going to have to think outside the...

In this article I will present to you the idea that taking up space really is not a problem, but instead good for anyone involved, and everyone around, if you just DO IT. I hope my method of being dominant helps you reach success - and helps you inspire other people to do the same.

What do you do if you, in terms of evolution, stand still? You die. Contemplate that for a second... stagnancy equals death. this might not be real death -- where you die per se -- but could be...
