I hope to answer the question of what to do when you can't sleep. We'll look at some of the causes of insomnia, and what you can do to change this condition. But first, we'll look at what NOT to do.

I feel the worst thing to do when you can't sleep is to take sleeping pills, because not only can they have a lot of side effects, but they also can become very addictive. There are natural cures you should try instead.

So, let's answer the question of what to do when you can't...

Do you need help sleeping? I am here to give you some suggestions.

First of all, following a regular sleep schedule will be very beneficial if you need help sleeping. Also, try not to take long naps during the day, because this can make you less sleepy at night. A so called "power nap" that lasts about 20 minutes should do the trick. Also, try to get some exercise at the same times each day, but not too close to bed time. Exercise a few hours before bed can be relaxing....

If you find yourself tossing and turning night after night, you are probably looking for some sleep remedies. I hope to be able to show you some natural sleep remedies, and why relying on drugs to get more rest is a bad idea.

When many people have insomnia and are unable to sleep at night, they turn to sleeping pills, and then they fall asleep. But as time goes on, they notice it gets harder and harder to get to sleep, and when they do wake up, they felt as if they had not slept...

If you can't sleep at night, do not worry. I can give you cures for insomnia. Natural remedy solutions are what you should be looking for, and not sleep medications.

Why do I say you should avoid sleeping pills? There are a number of reasons. First of all, sleeping pills can carry a lot of side effects. Some people who have used certain types of sleep medications have suffered vomiting, dizziness, loss of libido, even penile erections that lasted for hours. Also, users of sleep...

If you are suffering from insomnia, you are probably suffering a number of sleep deprivation effects. Insomnia can be very dangerous for your health. If you do not get the proper rest, your ability to think is impaired, you do not handle stress as well, your immune system is not working as it should, and you become more emotional. Sleep is so important to your overall well being that not getting sleep for long periods of time has actually proven to be deadly. Lab rats who are not...

Before we look at the sleep deprivation symptoms, let us look at what causes people to not get sleep, and its effect on those suffering from it.

Almost one quarter of adults are affected by insomnia. Insomnia/sleep deprivation can be caused by a number of factors. Alcohol plays a role, because it impedes deep sleep, so you should avoid it right before bed. Caffeine is a common trigger of insomnia, so this should be avoided at least five hours before sleeping. Arthritis is a common...

When you are suffering from a lack of sleep, you have a number of problems, and many of them coincide with the physical effects of sleep deprivation.

When you are suffering from insomnia, the physical effects of sleep deprivation include exhaustion, fatigue and a general lack of energy. These might seem somewhat obvious, but it then translates into even bigger problems, such as emotional instability, mood swings, stress, pessimism, and anger. Recent studies have shown that those...

You need to learn how to protect against malware, even if you do not think your computer is infected. But chances are, your computer IS infected, despite what you think, because it is estimated that nine in ten computers are infected with malware/spyware (the two terms are interchangeable)

The "mal" in malware stands for malicious, as in malicious software, and the definition definitely fits! At its worst, malware can be used to get access to someone's personal banking...

Let's look at some of the causes of sleep deprivation

Lifestyle

Being fatigued and losing sleep are often a direct result of how you live your life. Drink caffeine or alcohol right before going to bed is one of the primary causes of sleep deprivation. So is working in shifts, because it alters your normal circadian rhythm patterns.

If you can pinpoint lifestyle choices that affect your sleep, you can then decide what you need to change. One thing you can do is keep a...

Do you know how dangerous sleep deprivation while driving is? Once, a study was done where a drunk driver drove their car, and so did a sleepy driver. Guess who drove worse? The sleep deprived driver!

Sleep deprivation while driving can also lead to hallucinations. I remember one time I was driving from a concert in the middle of the night. My destination was about 174 miles from where I was starting from, so it wasn't too far, but not short either. Anyway, we took off around...
